BIOGRAPHY







Igor Gryshyn was born in 1983 in Charkow, Ukraine, where at the age of four he begann his piano studies with S. Polusmjak at the Special School for Music. In 1996 he entered the Special School for Music at Moscow’s Tchaikovsky Conservatory and studied there with A. Sevidow until in 1998, he was moved to the class for promoting emerging talent.

From 1999 to 2005 he continued his studies at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig, Germany under H. Sahling and he passed his Diploma examinations with the highest grades, becoming the youngest ever graduate of the Hochschule.

From 2005 to 2007 he studied his postgraduate Diploma in the Konzertexamen and he finished also with the highest grades. He is currently studying in the Meisterklasse Diplom with G. Fauth. He has participated in Masterclasses with Vladimir Krajnew, Leslie Howard and Vladimir Ovchinnikow.

Since 2011 he teaches at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig.

He took master classes e.g. with Vladimir Krajnew, Leslie Howard, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Ovchinnikow.

He is prizewinner of several competitions in Japan, Ukraine and Germany. He has played recitals throughout the United Kingdom, Moscow, the Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Serbia, the Netherlands, the France, Spain and South Korea. He has played also his many recitals in the Malta National Manoel Theater. He has been a soloist with some leading Orchestras and conductors in Russia, Ukraine and Germany: with the Chamberorchestra ‘Musica Viva’ under A. Rudin in the Moscow Philharmonie and with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra under A. Anissimov, with the Charkow Symphony Orchestra and with the Westsächsische Philharmony.

In 2005 he performed the Frederic Chopin Piano concert Op.11 and he had a his debut in the Gewandhaus Leipzig with the Akademischen Orchester under H.Förster. He had a recording his solo performance for a radio program ‘MDR-Figaro’

in 2005 and 2007 with pieces of M. Ravel, S. Rachmaninov, S. Prokofiev and Bach’s transcription. In 2007 his first solo recording-CD has appeared by label “Querstand” publisher Klaus-Jürgen Kamprad, Altenburg.
